Tasks

The editorial office is relatively small and everyone takes part in the editorial work. The trainee will take part in all phases of newspaper editing.

Requirements

The primary skill needed

- Journalism / creative writing

Ohter skills which would be useful;

- graphic design/newspaper lay design

- web design

- photography

- marketing skills/business experience

- translation

Salary EDUFI scholarship 1010 euros / month
Working language English (application should be written in English) and Finnish
Accommodation

The employer will help in finding accommodation.

The Finnish American Reporter is a monthly English language newspapers that has readers mostly amongst the Finns living in Northern America.

The newspaper is published by Finlandia University.

Preselection of candidates is done at the Finnish National Agency for Education EDUFI, the employer makes the final decision. EDUFI provides information about visa application process. The trainee will need a J1-visa and will pay the fees him- /herself.
